About us
DesignNotes and StudioOne are run by Gil and Laurence Gillian. Gil has worked within music and arts for many years. He is an experienced musician, manager, and producer. Gil studied at Bath University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He plays jazz and blues piano, and has written and produced music for film and video. Laurence is currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and has considerable expertise in digital audio and live sound. He plays violin, tenor horn, bass guitar and keyboards.
Every job is important, and benefits from close attention to the detail of all aspects of the recording and production process.

Whether you are looking for a project studio to write and record your latest composition, on location audio or video recording, help with web design and hosting, interim management or arts consultancy, we hope you will the site useful. We are always on hand to offer friendly help and advice and we have great freshly roasted coffee.
Location
We are situated within the picturesque village of Marshfield on the southern edge of the Cotswolds, ideally located for Bath, Bristol, Swindon, M4 and M5 corridors, and the south west.
Marshfield itself offers three friendly pubs, good local shops and amenities, and a wide selection of places to stay.
